Natural gas consolidates itself as the best alternative for professional transport: in 2018 there were 146% more registrations of gas vehicles. Once again, RedTortuga satisfies market needs by responding to a growing trend: over the course of 2019, the number of stations at which we already offer LNG and CNG en-route refuelling (15) will be increased to 76.
Currently, our company’s commitment to gas can be enjoyed at 10 stations in Spain, 4 in France and 1 in Belgium. This 2019 we are going to bolster the service by adding new stations in France (+18), Spain (+4) and Belgium (+2), and we are going to expand the network in Italy (7), Holland (3) and Slovenia (1). Thus, the route of service stations offering natural gas, a more sustainable alternative for professional transport, will be reinforced across the continent.
You can consult the service stations already in operation on our map.
A more sustainable and economic alternative
Compared to other fuels such as diesel, CNG and LNG represent a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions and 85% in the case of NOx, responsible for suspended particulate matter (SPM). These are the emissions that have a direct impact on people’s health.
The service is aimed at professional transport, for which natural gas not only has advantages in terms of a lower environmental impact, but also savings in fuel. In the case of diesel, this represents a cost reduction of 30%, whereas, in relation to petrol, the figure reduces by up to 50%.
LNG and CNG: long distance and express transport
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is ideal for long distance transport due to its range of up to 1,500 kilometres.
Conversely, compressed natural gas (CNG) is more suitable for light vehicles, allowing for journeys of up to 500 kilometres.
