Service stations that allow HVO refueling in Germany
OnTurtle expands HVO refueling network to Germany
Refueling HVO in Germany is now a reality with OnTurtle. We have doubled our HVO network in Europe with twenty-six new biodiesel dispensing points in Germany. The new additions join stations in the Netherlands, Austria and Spain. This brings the total to more than 50.
HVO is a renewable diesel fuel that reduces CO2 emissions, which are responsible for global warming, by up to 90%. True to our commitment to the decarbonization of the transport sector, we continue to work to meet an emerging market need: to cover our customers’ international routes with cleaner alternative energies.
Where to refuel HVO in Germany
The twenty-six new German service stations with HVO supply are all flagged by the supplier Hoyer, OnTurtle’s partner in Germany. They are located near major cities such as Hannover, Hamburg, Berlin or Munich, and are located near strategic areas for professional transport, such as border areas.
Germany is promoting a decarbonization policy in professional transport with biofuels. In March 2024 it approved the official regulation of HVO refueling at filling stations in the country.
Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) is a low-sulfur, renewable diesel fuel produced from vegetable oils and animal fats. It is a diesel fuel that is chemically very similar to diesel, which makes it perfectly compatible with today’s diesel engines. It is estimated to emit up to 90% less CO2 and lower NOx emissions, which means that SCR trucks also use less AdBlue. The many advantages of HVO position it as a more environmentally friendly alternative energy source. This also means that the SCR systems of HVO-fueled trucks use less AdBlue.
A network for HVO refueling in Europe
At OnTurtle, true to our commitment to more sustainable freight mobility, we pioneered the opening of our international HVO network in 2023. Since then, our customers have been able to fill up with this biofuel at filling stations in the Netherlands, Austria and Spain. Now, we are doubling the number of supply points with some 20 stations in Germany to better serve our customers.
