OnTurtle has joined the “Manifesto for Professional Drivers”, an initiative promoted by the Truckers Life Foundation together with several companies from the logistics and transport sector. Its objective is to improve the working conditions of drivers and reinforce their recognition within the supply chain, highlighting the essential role they play in the global economy.
A manifesto that protects professional drivers
The “Manifesto for Professional Drivers” aims to establish higher standards in the transport industry, promoting fair and sustainable working conditions. It was created with the intention of building a more dignified, safe, and humane working environment for those who live on the road.
This action is made possible through the joint work with organisations and companies in the sector, such as OnTurtle, Polski Instytut Transportu Drogowego, eXportsy, FAZ Drivers, Colian Logistic, ROHLIG SUUS Logistics, R+V Versicherung, MDC2, Hegelmann Group, Magazyny123, Transcash.eu, Bay Logistik GmbH + Co. KG, KAWCZYŃSKI LOGISTICS and MARATHON INTERNATIONAL, among others.
The main objective is to raise awareness among society and businesses about the challenges faced by professional drivers, promoting changes that improve their working conditions and quality of life.
Eight key principles for transport companies
The manifesto is based on eight fundamental commitments, focused on respect, active listening and collaboration with drivers:
- Recognition of their importance: Drivers are essential for guaranteeing goods transport, and improving their working conditions is the responsibility of the entire industry.
- Active listening: It promotes regular evaluation of driver satisfaction and collaboration with partners to adapt services to their real needs.
- Dignified working and resting conditions: It supports adequate sanitary facilities, safe rest areas and well-equipped parking zones.
- Respect and professionalism: Transparent and respectful communication with drivers is fostered at all stages of cooperation.
- Technology and modern management: Digital tools and modern systems are used to reduce waiting times, plan rest periods and improve safety and logistical efficiency.
- Diversity and inclusion: The industry must be open to everyone, combating stereotypes and adapting conditions to promote equality, with particular attention to women.
- Culture of collaboration: A working environment based on mutual respect is promoted, with training, comprehensive health programmes and driver participation in work-related decisions.
- Cooperation initiatives: Associations and NGOs working to improve the lives and work of drivers are supported, incorporating their voice into the continuous improvement of standards and procedures.
“Skróćmy dystans”: Let’s shorten the distance
As part of this commitment, OnTurtle will actively participate in the social campaign “Skróćmy dystans” (“Let’s shorten the distance”), a movement that seeks to improve the public perception of the transport sector and foster more human relationships between drivers and office employees.
At the centre of this campaign is a video that shows that beyond job titles, we all share similar experiences, values, and emotions. The campaign aims to break down barriers, generate empathy and strengthen bonds within the sector.
