OnTurtle adds two gas stations in Germany and Belgium
There are two additions to our international network of liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations in Germany and Belgium, as part of our commitment to promoting more environmentally friendly fuel. There are now 73 OnTurtle gas stations in Europe.
The new German station is a collaboration with our partner BayWa, specialists in sustainable mobility solutions. It is in Karlsruhe, near the French border and is equipped to refuel Volvo trucks. The addition brings the total in Germany to six gas stations where our customers can fill up with this alternative fuel. Our other stations are in Soltau, Wolfsburg, Nördlingen, Nürnberg and Eching.
Our new Belgian gas station is supplied by DRIVE SYSTEMS. It is on the E313 motorway in Ranst, near Antwerp. In Belgium, our network is made up of eight strategically located gas stations.
OnTurtle’s European network has more than 1,600 service stations across Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany. So far, the highest concentration is in Spain with 24 stations, and in France, where there are now 28. The carefully chosen locations provide added value to our customers, because they are all at strategic points for the transport of goods in those countries. They can be seen on our map of stations.
We have been committed to promoting natural gas – both liquefied (LNG) and compressed (CNG) – as a sustainable fuel for haulage since 2018, before it was seen as the most well-established sustainable option for haulage on the market. We closed 2020 with 66 gas stations, a more than 30% increase over the previous year. We intend to continue to expand and strengthen our natural gas supply network throughout Europe.
